Just got a call from the neighbor I cooked the butts for, said he wants 200 lbs every Friday and Saturday night. Said he will clear out one of his airplane hangars and open a BBQ restaurant. Sounds like he liked it. -RP

Nice cook Randy, I was wondering how that went.

Hey Mike, actually I think it might be the best PP I've ever done. I didn't have enough rub so I made a couple batches of Ray's big time rub. The stuff is really good! I think it was the best bark I've ever tasted. -RP

Pics? :woohoo:
I'm getting ready to trim a packer and using John Henry's Pecan rub. That stuff is sweet.
I'll find a brisket you will like.

Sounds like a great cook. Ain't neighbors great,, you never have to eat leftovers

Now if we can just figure out how to get them to pay for it

Nice to hear Randy, congratulations.
Did you ever find out if there was much in left overs. Sounded like a lot of meat for that many people?
Thanks for letting us know.

I got to do two next weekend for the family. How did you do yours? I want that same reaction out of my family!!!

Well, I am not sure if there can ever be to much...
I ran the numbers I used against what celtic says to use and both came up heavy on the food side.
How long did the cook take to get done and what temp did you pull at?
Kent -
Took 6 butts off at 14 hours, and the other two at 16. -RP

Randy,
Great Cook, maybe this well surpass Spas!
My Best,
Ross -
I just cooked 2 butts (15 lbs) for a party of 15 people (adults). I ended up with about 7.5 lbs of pulled pork. I originally thought about 1/2 lb per person seemed right, 2 sandwiches each. Ended up with probably 2 lbs left after the meal. There was five elderly people which may have caused the shift. Anyhow, looks like pork sandwiches for me and the family for a day or two.
