"Unfried Chicken"

I took Bente's advise and made the unfried chicken tonight.I went and got some Ragin River as this is what the recipe called for.It came out pretty darn good,although I may have slightly overcooked it :pinch: Even wifey liked it :woohoo: Here it is going on the XL
I found some 2" wide L-brackets in the barn.This worked well to raise the grate.
And here it is just before eating :woohoo:
And here's one for JL.I got all three critters in the pic :silly: :laugh:

Hey Bama,the recipe is very easy.Just rub the wings with Ragin River and cook at 250* with a raised grid(direct heat).The recipe said 1.5-2hrs.I went 2 hrs and they came out very good.I could have pulled sooner,but wifey wasn't ready yet :woohoo:

BTW those do not look overdone... if they were not dry they were not overdone...
next time i do it i will try just doing legs... unless the wife wants me to do the other chicken in the fridge that way :ohmy:happy eggin

Great lookin yard bird doug and good idea on the L brackets..was just thinking the other day about how to raise my L grid 2" without using fire bricks..I like the brackets idea!
