Portobello Mushrooms?

edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Going to do some NY Strips using the traditional egg method. Any thoughts on doing some mushrooms? Maybe cook the rooms at 250-300 until done, remove, and then stoke the egg up for the steaks? Naked on the grill or in foil?[p]Tar Heel

Tar Heel,[p]Just finished a great dinner of NY strip steaks, shrimp and portobello slices. Did the steaks 3 minutes a side at 650* took them off and let the rest while the shrimp and mushrooms went on at 400* for just a few minutes. Shrimp and mushrooms were done and the steak was still hot and juicy. A great dinner (the family said so).[p]Chuck <><
