i was going to sign up and cook, but schedule had a wrench thrown into it.

i need to find out if i can show up around 1pm and still have a spot to cook. maybe we'll just end up as spectators. was going to do my seafood paella or something similar. even did a practice run yesterday. ...but that is the last day of our vacation at Lake W. in Meredith. EssexCo said that I'd be crazy to pass up coffee on the dock in the morning. I think he's right.

    Julie,

I was looking too and thinking the same as you. I'm still debating with myself as to what second dish I am going to do.

First dish is going to be chili for the real chili eaters out there!
  • personally i think your crazy to pass up an eggfest so close to home, even for an afternoon. ..

You had better be there or we'll make sure you aren't able to harass Celtic Wolf any more!

There should be an Egg available for you if you at least sign up.

In fact, we - Julie and I - are expecting you and your paella pan.

well.... plan is to pack up and head over there. maybe get there at noon.

it is our last year at this place.

i designed it for a friend of mine, and we negotiated a few weeks as partial payment for my services. he rents it for, ahem, ten thousand dollars a week. which means i won't be back any time soon unless i'm invited.

it faces south on Winnipesaukee, in a quiet cove, where the gin flows easily and there's no where to go.

so, if i'm late to Eggfest, it'll have to do. NE Eggfest will still be an option for me next year, but this place won't. hahaha

  • oh, i remember pics of that place before and your story ... . yes, you're forgiven.. .those bums at eggfest can absolutely wait another year for you . . .LOL. ..heck, just take an extra pack of pearls up there with you and think about the gang at the fest while sitting in your rocking chair munching a pearl and watching the water lap at the base of the deck ....that is one beautiful house.. . .

You show up and do paella and I will make room on my egg just for you! LOL That is an incredible house and I can see why you might be tempted  but this is an EGG FEST! Come on! Us rookies need all the help we can get! I'm doing boneless chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese and egg dried tomatoes. and mini chocolate volcano cakes for our sweet. I am getting sick of them though doing test runs to get it into a small enough pan for sample sizes. you can not cut them as they are filled with warm gooey runny fudge filling, so it has to be a whole one for each person. I am cutting my two big, good mini baking pan that cooks 24 in two so i can use it on the egg. LOL I freak out if any of the girls at work use it and do not wash it right and oil it so it stays nice. it is OLD but it works perfect. and I am cutting them into. LOL :pinch: but it is all in name of the Egg Fest. See Stike,..... sacrifice....... for my egg..... LOL Julie

you don't sound like a newbie to me!

i'd say it's 90% that we show. we made plans with mr. and mrs. essexco, and don't want to leave them hanging. but instead of being there at 7am, more like noon-ish+
