Just got my BGE a week ago today and thanks to all for the advice and info on the forum!! It sure has shortened the learning curve. This is not my 1st butt cook but 1st on the BGE. Got everything stable but will keep an eye on it for awhile before I go to bed. Dome at 230*, meat internal at 55* so a couple of hrs to go :) . Mike

Without a guru or similar I would raise the dome to 250 or 275 as 230 is hard to maintain without help. Good luck and post pics.

Thanks! I'll kick it up a notch. Been reading about the Guru and checking their site and already wanting to add. Haven't seen one mounted on a BGE. Anyone got a pic handy of a Guru unit mounted? I've got an XL- what fan size? 4 or 10? Thanks, Mike

Here is one on the large on the left. Very easy to add or remove. Go with the 10 cfm fan and you can throttle if down if you need to. One of the most convenient toy's I've added.
