A clean burn??

Got to be time for a cleanout so took egg 2 up high (I'll leave the 1000 degrees to TNW)
The clean has 1 regular grid, 1 oblong from the adjustable rig, 1 weber grate,fish/shrimp grate 2 wing racks, a plate setter and a raised grate. Like I told the neighbors,, Sorry no food but it sure smells good.

Keep at 600 for about an hour

Egg 1 set for a couple of small 7" pizzas later. nothing special just cheese and pepperoni when I get to them.

What I could not fit in the clean. Guess I gotta clean these by hand. :( 2 CI pans, V rack, the other fish/shrimp grate and weber grate #2. all stored in the old weber gasser.

This is almost as much fun as cooking something with the neighbors (and the dog) expecting extras.
(saving 1 pizza for my disabled neighbor)

Pat what kind of gasket you got? Looks stock. Afraid to burn mine that high that long but yours looks till good to go.
-
I sure am glad that you got your Spring cleaning done before Summer time got here. Will the next clean up be New Years Eve 2009? Have a good time cooking this weekend.

Yea it's stock. Egg 2 is original & egg 1 replaced about 6 months ago. I havent done the 1000 degree like TNW but replaced the gasket because of use. Do a lot of TRex but never fried a gasket yet just replaced because i was bored. Told the wife it was necessary maintenance. Think she let me do it to keep from knocking another wall in the house down.
:woohoo: :woohoo: Think she likes it better when I have tongs instead of a hammer in my hands.

Yes you can cook & clean at the same time.

I had the medium over 1200 degrees dome today. Whew....The Naked Whiz
-
I'm already gathering my protective gear on the chance I might be invited to the TNW demolition grounds

Will is updated & wife is cared for if I end up in more than one piece (think it's an insurance thing). So just give me a hollar and we can explode some stuff. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: . I'll leave the dog at home as he gets nervous above 750. :side: :woohoo:
 . -
You know how much I use mine and still on my stock one. With the "q" it will leak alittle but still works fine. I do think I'll Nomax it soon as you say "just because".

I did a cleaning burn about a month ago, taking the Egg to 1000*. I put my plate setter, which I thought beyond hope, in the conflagration. The Egg smoked like a fiend for 30 minutes, then burned clear. My plate setter came out absolutely white...I was amazed.

Pat,
I'm with you on the extremely high temps--I won't do it until the BGE is sitting out on a concrete slab in the middle of the yard. I've got mine underneath a covered porch, and I know that either one could very well take down the house. I generally only crank mine up to 600 (like you do) to burn off the greasy stuff. After last night's TRex, I put the porcelain grid, the extender, and the v-rack in there and let her rip for another hour. Everything left just brushed off easily with a stainless brush. There was a lot of smoke billowing out, too! -
Just do the wife a favor and if Doug says "here hold my beer" decline. Many a holiday weekend trauma and burn victims start that way.
My hint for the day. Potato cannons from metal pipes with gunpowder as the propellant is ALWAYS a bad idea.
Stick with PVC and hairspray and be safe for crying out loud  :woohoo:
