What did I buy? (perhaps a dumb question)

I recently purchased a XL Egg and tonight I'm experimenting for the first time with a pork butt.
When I was at Sam's Club earlier in the week, I purchased what was labeled:
--
Pork Shoulder
Boston Butt Cov
--
The whole item weighed 15lbs. So does this mean that I got the whole shoulder and the butt was seperated from the shoulder already? It was in two pieces when I opened the wrapper. Is the other part the picnic then? Which one would have been bigger? What does "Cov" mean on the label? Lots of questions...It's been cooking for almost an hour now :-)
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
John

What you have is two Boston butts. I think Sam's is about the best place to get them anymore. -RP

That's just great! I was hoping that was the case but really had no knowledge to assume or base that off of. I should have asked someone at Sam's right away to get my answer...I shop with a 2 year old and a pregnant wife so time is usually limited in any section.
Thanks for the quick answer!!!
I'll post pictures when the cook is complete.

Good luck with the cook, any questions, ask away. -RP

Looks like the first 3 questions have been answered...
COV on the label means it is packaged in the cryovac bag (the heavy plastic), which is standard when it comes from the major packing houses. This is a good sign that the meat has not been disturbed.Happy Trails~thirdeye~Barbecue is not rocket surgery -

Good Weekend to ya,
and stay hydrated!!
EvansI spent most of my money on good bourbon, and bad women...the rest, I just wasted!! -
I believe they are both butts. I buy them all the time at Sam's.

Were they deboned? Per a post of mine from yesterday, I bought a similar pack at Costco and they were deboned, which surprised me, so I trussed them up to make them more uniform. Don't know if that was the right thing to do or not.

Costco sells only de-boned butts. Sam's Club sells bone-in butts. I just did my first bone-in butts yesterday, and I think the flavor is better. But they're all good.

Thanks. That explains it! They were bone-in butts from Sam's.

The last picture is just one of the butt's pulled.
