SLOW: network problems this morning

I've just learned that, due to a "fiber cut", the network connectivity to our data center is degraded as of 11:50 UTC this morning. Probably some utility work or the like broke a fiber line. It will probably take a few hours to fix it I would guess, but I cannot say for sure. I can say that it is not the server itself; so, there is nothing we can do about it unfortunately:-(.
