Ditto, I'm getting shuffled all over the place. Page3, then page5, then??? Everytime I hit the "Retturn to index" link. Mark

    BENTE,

It seems to be working fine for me, at least on FireFox, Safari and IE. It really shouldn't be browser dependent in any case since it's handled entirely by the server.

However, I have found one way to get this to happen. The logic to implement this feature searches the index for the message you were viewing; so, if it isn't there, you'll likely end up at the last page. This can happen when you were viewing a message from *before* the index begins using the paging controls or the calendar. If you see a "showstart=" in your index url, then you are viewing the index for an earlier time. It can also happen when selecting pages w/out your intending to view a past time -- i.e. the "showstart=" is added to the url whenever you click on a page number -- we'll look into fixing this as it is confusing.

    BENTE,

I've modified the paging controls so that they will not include the "showstart=" portion unless you're actually viewing posts in the past. This should help to eliminate the odd behavior of the "Return to index" link.

Still I think the paging control need a ">>|" button, or the like, to force a return to the present when you have backed up in time. We'll look into adding this next.

    Windows XP, IE7.

Forum keeps jumping to page 8. It usually happens when I leave the browser/fourm for a while. This happened about 10 to 12 times this morning.

Yeah. It's still happening to me also. If I look at this morning's posts in the classic view and then "Return to index", I end up on page 8. Mark

I should have stated this is heppening to me in narrow clasic view.

The jump doesn't happen every time I click return to index.

Yes, me also; XP IE 7 and narrow classic. It seems to depend how far down the list of posts you go before you get transported to page 8.

I have been trying to get some sequence to repeat but I can't except for one.

Every time I click on this post http://www.eggheadforum.com/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&func=view&id=448656&catid=1

when I click return to index I am at page 8. At the time of this post the 'chubby' response is the 6th post down.

I clicked on 10 posts some read and some unread posts. After clicking return to index once in a while I would jump to page 8.

The last page return happens once in a while when clicking unread posts, more often when I view a read post again.

    Odd indeed.

On every single post chubby has made on page one. If I open the post and when I click return I go to page 8.

However, opening and reopening Spring Hen's post and clicking return I go bavk to page one.

Okay, I see the problem -- the "Return to index" link is not working for messages that are replies to replies or deeper. I tested for threads and for replies, but I must not have tested it for replies to replies. I will fix -- it won't take long now that I know what's going on.

It's fixed. Just needed to fetch the thread id instead of the parent -- not a difficult fix once I understood the problem.

    Apologies for the inconvenience.
