Teddy Bear Bread & Valeria
On the subject of Valeria's Princess Crown Pizza, I'd like to share my method for Teddy Bear Bread.
These are so cute, you can make them up and give them for baby or shower gifts.
Make a regular recipe of white bread
1 1/2 tsp yeast
4 cups bread flour
2 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp salt
2 Tbsp dry milk
2 Tbsp butter
1 1/4c + 1 Tbsp water
Knead and rise 1x, then punch down, get to the "make a loaf" stage.
Now, divide up the bread into one largish ball (half the recipe) and the other half into 1 medium ball and 7 smaller balls
Make up the bear per the diagram and put in raisins as shown for eyes, nose and belly button. The closer the eyes are to the muzzle, the better. Let rise, use egg yolk wash over bread for glaze, bake on Egg (large or xl) at about 350 until sounds hollow and is browned well or use thermometer and read 200 or so internally. You can decorate with a ribbon around the neck. (can be baked on a sheet in the house.)
