Some friends just got home from Hawaii. They gave us a large bag of roasted salted macadamias essentially freshly made. Having lead a sheltered life I'm clueless what to do with them - I assume make cookies? Any suggestions or recipes would be appreciated!

When I lived in Hawaii, they were great with a cold beer!
But, this will work also. Eat them soon, they have a tendency to pick up a bad oil flavor if left around too long. Enjoy!!

Here is one way I like to do bananas, peaches, pears and apples, pineapple rings or wedges..

    Preparation:
    1/4 cup Turbindo sugar.
1/2 cup Pecans, Walnuts, Macademia, Almond or combination, Coarsley Chopped
1/4 cup Coconut Flakes, Coarsley Chopped
    4 Tbs Butter, Melted
1/2 oz Gran Marnier, Amaretto, Myers Rum, Orange or Banana Liquer, Malibu Coconut Rum, (Optional)
    Whip Cream to Garnish

    Procedure:
1 For an interesting dessert, take the coconut flakes, nuts, turbindo sugar, melted butter, and mix with a little, (your choice) gran marnier, amaretto, or liquer of choice or orange juice. Mix into a thick paste. Cut bananas in half lengthwise with skin on,(skin is great after heated) peaches or pears. After the main dish is cooked and the BGE is being shutdown. I place the fruit on the grid (skin on)with the mixture covering the fruit and turn the puppy off. 15-25 minutes later, after the main course is finished, the dessert is ready. Top with blueberries, raspberries, whipped cream, ice cream or whatever you prefer.

Crush them up and put them on some floured Tilapia...coat the Tilapia with crushed Macadamias...put a CI skillet on your BGE when BGE temp is stabilized at 375-400 degrees...let the skillet heat up for 5 -7 minutes...put butter in the skillet & melt ...put filets in the pan and cook 3 -4 minutes per side...take filets off...throw a few more nuts in the pan roast for 1-2 minutes ...put the filets on a plate with the roasted nuts...eat & enjoy...oh yea squeeze a fresh lemon or lime for xtra flavor...yummy

    Ron,
Well, that is an ingriedent that you see very often.
    However, they are very good.
Here a curry paste that uses them.

Mariate some chicken strips with it and then grill it like a satay.

Also, add some to Choclate Chip Cookies instead of walnuts or pecans.

    Hope this helps,
