The perfect respast for a 1st timer?
Minime
Posts: 5
I am looking for the "perfect" meat to baptise my mini egg with. Any ideas, thoughts, or suggestions? Remember, I am a first timer so I would like to keep it simple this time. Thanks, Minime

Minime, check out the link - it was my very first cook on the egg and it turned out perfect. [p]In the beginning

Minime,[p]I baptised my Mini with a couple 1 1/2 inch thick New York strips. Got the fire roarin to about 700 degrees, did 3 minutes per side to sear the meat, and then closed the bottom vent, and capped the top, and dwelled for about another 4 minutes for medium rare. Increase or decrease your dwell time depending on how well done you want the steaks.

Minime,
I second the recommendation to do steaks. Just watch out for the flashback on your first cook. If you don't know what I'm talking about, visit my webpage:

Minime,
Steaks are a good first cook.
But don't wait too long to cook some pork!
