Dome Sealed Shut!
Have had my egg for months now and have become extremely dependent on “The Egg” Cooked some quick hamburger steaks tonight and had a little drippings on my coals and grill that I wanted to bake off for a minute or two. Unfortunately the Steaks distracted me and it wasn’t until later that evening I discovered I had never shut down the egg. Had “The Egg” full throttle. Rolled it back into the garage and attempted to lift the dome to check the grill and ……It appears that the dome has permanently sealed itself as some sort of punishment for improper egg handling. I need help. Anyone have any suggestions. I am absolutely devastated. Someone Please Help Me!

TennesseeLou,
Use a putty knife to seperate the 2 gaskets.

TennesseeLou, I had the same problem. Forced it open and then reattached the gasket (it had parted from the rim) - the glue seemed to hold it in place. Good as new. Brian

Here's a thought.[p]Althought I don't own an egg....[p]couldn't you take some foil and place it over the bottom gasket all the way around each time before you cook? Wouldn't this keep the two gaskets from fusing together?
