Pork Shoulder Question

I was recently at a BBQ joint in Key West. They were having their meat delivered and I noticed that the hunks of meat they were using looking like a whole shoulder. Would this be the picnic and the butt, still connected?
If so, has anyone tried slow cooking a whole shoulder on the egg? What are the pros and cons???[p]The BBQ joint was a really cool place, but the food was not up to speed. Really dry... added to my thoughts of starting my own...

  • Wardster,
The butt and pinic connected is the whole shoulder. I,ve cooked several shoulders on my regular smoker and they come out great, but I just bought my first green egg and will try a whole shoulder on it this weekend. I hope it turns out good. I'll let ya know.[p]Scott
