Today while visiting my local Barbeques Galore store on FM-1960 in Houston, I saw a guy and his wife looking at all the heavy metal gassers on display. At first I didn't pay much attention but after a few minutes I saw them standing by the only Big Green Egg on display. He was looking it over pretty good so I said hi and offered him my three years of accumulated experience on the Egg. He surprised me by saying he brought one back from Japan many years ago but it wasn't called a Big Green Egg and it wasn't exactly made of the same stuff. Being the bright individual I am I deducted that he was talking about the Kamodo and it was probably made of a clay material. Yea, that's it. That started a lengthy conversation that eventually culminated in his buying the BGE even though they did not have a single accessory on hand for him. I suggested he go The Forum for advice. I even gave him my phone number and e-mail address. I suspect he may be reading our posts right now.
So, I've done my good deed for today. [p]Spring Chicken

Spring Chicken, er, I mean, Larry...
as my Pappy used to say "Ya done good, Boy"
Though you directed that fellow down the path of what is right and wonderful without any expectation of personal gain other than knowing you steered him well - then you did right. Happy Father's Day - you learned well what being helpful is all about!
