I've read about some of you marinating chicken in yogurt. Can you mix marinades with the yogurt?[p]Thanks

    j.k.,
Sure! and/or dry seasonings. [p]The yougurt is mainly a vehicle for the other ingredients, and has tenderizng enzymes.[p]though the tenderizing properties prolly work best on smaller pieces of meat, since it only "tenderizes" the outside...maybe 1/4 inch tops?[p]Overall yougurt is a great base for a marinade, IMO!
    Have fun!

j.k.,[p]Yep! Yogurt sure can be used as a marinade. As a matter of fact, I just saw a chicken recipe in the Penzy's catalog
that uses yogurt, curry powder, garam masala, and a few other spices as a marinade. I was planning on doing this recipe this weekend. I've never done a yogurt marinade before, but I'll let you know how it turns out.[p]--Kevin

    Nature Boy,
Highly interesting. I love yoghurt and like to make cheese with it but have never used it as a marinade. That's why I love this Forum. You're never to old to learn and I have learned a lot in the short time I have been a part of this. Thanks a bunch.
