Double Butt Cook

I know it's in the archives somewhere, but it usually takes me a long time to find anything there. I'm doing two pork butts for tomorrow evening. Each is about 8 pounds. Starting them at about 8:00 or so tonight. Does doing two at once make any real difference in the length of time this should take? I seem to remember that there is not any difference, but this is first time for two at the same time and I just wanted to check my memory. Thanks

    Gandolf,
From what I understand, as long as there is some separation between the two, they will cook just like you are cooking one 8 pounder. I personally have never cooked just one, we always do two, did three Thursday night. Three didn't cook any different or longer than two.
We used a new rub Thursday, Bad Byron's Butt Rub. It was very good. Has ground chipolte peppers, so there is a tiny bit of a kick to it, but not too hot for wimps like me.

    Gandolf,
I agree with Nikkig, just a little seperation between the two pieces of meat should do it. Good luck
