Fellow Eggers, I have a Med. BGE and with the advice of all of you I make some pretty good food. I have a trip to the beach in July and I have an opportunity to borrow a small BGE from a friend(who doesn't know much about their BGE).[p]I'd like to make some great pulled pork on our trip but I was not sure if the small would make the long cook ?[p]Should I haul the small to the beach? [p]Thanks for your input,
BobbyG

    BobbyG,
Yes you can. Although not as "set it and forget it" as the large. I have to replinish the lump about half way through. But it does a good job. [p]Get about a 6 -8 pound nothing more. An eight pound allmost touched the dome after I put a drip pan in. [p]Tom

    BobbyG,
Yes you can. I've done a number of butts on the small, including 8 pounders, all with good success. In most instances when doing a whole butt, I have had to remove the butt and drip pan to stir coals and add additional lump at some point during the cook however. I generally put it on and stabalize at night before hitting the hay, check and re-stock, if necessary, first thing in the a.m. - been ready @ mid-day/afternoon.[p]Good luck!
