Charity Bread Bake

Well, I got through the day after baking 18 loaves of sourdough bread at the BGE dealer for a fund raiser for one of the employees. It went well and I could have sold a whole lot more than that.

Here is a shot of Sherri (who the benefit was for) opening the note and $100 check from Rodney Fortune (Fidel). Your generosity blew us all away, Rod, and Sherri's emotions got the best of her when she saw this! She just started her chemo so she's still feeling pretty good at this point.



Here's another shot of Sherri after about a 10 minute delay while she gathered herself.



It was a great day and we all are feeling real fuzzy!! :laugh:

All the employees want to help too, so I got orders for about 40 more loaves! :side:

I'm honored to be a part of it John. I really wish things had worked out so that I could have come to help as we discussed. Next time give me some notice and you'll have someone around to at least help you unload all the dough

Hey, Ron! I don't think that's going to stick like the 'Grape Boy' tag, but, I do the bread for our church monthly bake sale and I'm known as one of Betty's Bakers! (She's the lady who organizes the event). :laugh:

Yeah, I can, but you need the starter or you're out of luck! If you are serious about trying this, I can send you some of the starter to get you going. This starter is at least 150 years old, BTW.......
Send me your addy and I'll get it off to you with instructions.......

There were a lot of 10 and 20 dollar contributions going around, but, when Sherri saw your note and check she couldn't hold back the emotion.
