Good morning fellow carbon units, charged and uncharged. For some of you who are still inclined to observe the ritual of "going to work" I understand this is supposed to be a highly anticipated, less-than-productive day. Fryday, I think it is called by the locals. I may be incorrect but it may have something to do with frying certain food items, or at least consuming fried food items. There are some things I will never understand abut this planet.
Meanwhile, back at el Rancho Chicken, I was in dream state enjoying a leisurely ride on a very old riverboat when I was abruptly reminded of the importance of facility maintenance, especially plumbing equipment. Unplugging this unrestored supersized bundle of carbon particles from the recharging device was very difficult but it had to be done in order to avoid spillage and subsequent cleanup in Isle 4, the path to the maintenance room. The collective tissues managed to come together well enough for me to revert to an upright position, move quickly to the trouble spot and open the relief valve. Relief was instantaneous and disaster was once again averted.
Now able to move about, although cautiously, I made the toe-banging journey across the great room under cover of darkness and into the partially illuminated food preparation and storage area where I conducted a visual inspection of the contents of the refrigeration device. I could do so because the illuminator was in perfect working order. Although there were numerous consumables stored in the chilled compartment I refrained from making their acquaintance. I elected, instead, to continue my tour of the area.
My next stop was at the observation portal where I was able to see Rodney Dangerbird pacing in spot. He saw me and instantly let loose with a series of telepathic messages regarding his displeasure that the International workforce was set to return yet another day. He was not at all pleased with my explanation that additional construction and changes in plans required the crew to return later today for final cleanup and compensation. He crowed a couple of times under his breath then acknowledged that in spite of his displeasure, security was intact.
My energy running low, I checked the Forum to see which life forms were active. According to the gauge there are 7 and 68 available for consultation. However, my power is quickly running out and I must return to the charging station.
Say goodnight Leroy.
