lamb lolipop -
Lamb looks great. I like the idea of skewering leg vs. tying with string. Congrats on the weight loss. What king of diet are you on?
Bob -
What type of grill grate do you have on your egg? No one responded to me about your lamb recipte. Oh well. :(
-
yeah, those came with the nets on them, but kinda hard to get the marinade inside with the net, so cut it off and skewer it up. also makes handy lifting points for puttin on and taking off the egg.
diet? one-beer-a-day diet and walking everyday. cut back on carbs and eat sensibly -
that is half of a charbroil cast iron grate for the rack and chops.
hmmmm... didn't see your post, but maybe you are referring to the other boneless leg of lamb pic i posted earlier today? that's a marinade of garlic, rosemary, olive oil, herbs de provence and indirect on the egg at 350 for about 2 hours till 140-145 internal for medium. i think that one had cherry chips for smoke while these two here had apple chips. -
Methinks Rick will track somebody down to feed if necessary. If family is not around, feeds the crowd at Vinny's, if Vinny's is closed, road trip to closest NASCAR event, if snowed in, invites everyone in the neighborhood. I have submitted a bid on a lot withing earshot of RTD. Where did I put that Makers Mark? Outstanding Lamb RTD.

Vary nice Rick!

Two of our suppliers used to have an annual golf outing at Forsgate Country Club and they would serve grilled lamb chops I, would eat a ton of them. Man corporate cost cutting stinks. Just send me that silver tray and I'll clean it up good.

I did a 10# boneless leg o lamb for Easter as well, the flavor came out great but the meat was a little tougher than I expected. My mother made the comment to me after the fact that leg of lamb is always a little tough - is this generally considered true?
Thanks
Reed -
mine were not tough. they were smaller than yours i think. i got them at sam's. both had a marinade that contained lemon juice so that may have acted as a tenderizer. what temp did you take them to? i took these to around 140-145. nice and tender and they sliced easily. the chops and racks were more tender as expected. it was a toss up as to the family's favorite between the chops and the racks, but the legs were pretty dang good as well (considering that was the second time i've ever done leg-o-lamb) :woohoo:
