At 300, it should take 2.5-3 hrs.I have no idea about doing it at 190.

I do 11-12 pounders at 350 indirect and about 20 minutes/pound it takes. Here is a very popular recipe.

I'm with Doug, I think 300F for a couple of hours will do ya better...I'll be in the woods tomorrow morning, so hopefully I'll be smokin' wild turkey next week! 190F sounds a bit low for that size bird.
Let us know!

I saw a recipe for a smoke turkey at 190 for 12 hrs cook time. This did not look right though any thoughts

There's not enough fat or connective tissue in a turkey to do a low and slow. You might just end up with a tough and dry bird on your hands.
If you want to smoke a turkey cook at 350º or so for 15 minutes a pound till breast is 165º and legs/thighs 175º. Be careful with your smoking woods because the bird will absorb a lot of smoke and throw the taste into the toilet. You'll get your best smoke penetration when your first start your cook. MAke sure your fire is stable and burning clean then add your chips/chunks. Good luck.
