I am trying to figure out why I have an edit button at the bottom of my message sometimes and sometimes I don't. Is it because it shows up and I can edit until someone responds to my post and after that I can no longer edit it?

    I checked the scripts and found no condition for the "edit" link based upon whether there are any responses or not. The only factors that appear to control the presence of the "edit" link are a) you must be logged in; and b) the post must be yours.

    It could be that you are being logged out w/out realizing it sometimes. We have changed the timeout to 24 hours, but the system is ignoring it. We are still investigating why this is happening. It worked on the old server, at least at one time, and it works on other "test" sites, but not for eggheadforum.
