Thermapen Comes Thru AGAIN!

I recently purchased a refurb thermapen from thermoworks (sorry Large Marge, I didnt know how to get hold of you). Ever since it came in, it has operated sporadically and sometimes while taking a reading would sink to minus temps. It seemed to be affected by how far I opened the pen when ready to use. I emailed Amber at Thermapen about this requesting suggestions or what I might be doing wrong. She put a new pen via UPS today and is sending it with a no shipping return package to send my 'old' one back...she said simply..and I quote "You should not have to keep the defective unit, I’m sorry you are experiencing problems with it. I will send you out a different one today. It will come with a prepaid return label for the defective unit, just put it into the box and mail it back to me. And please do let me know if you experience any problems with the replacement.." within hours I received 2 add'l emails confirming shipment and including my tracking number.
Proving once again that it pays to deal with reputable, professional companies..even if they cost a little bit more...
