Do you guys get this stuff south of the border? It's a mixture of mushrooms, artickokes, hot
pepper, eggplant, olives, olive oil and spices.

I always read about giardinerra, which we don't really get in Canada. I have had Chicago Italian beef sangwietches and sausages with it but no pun intended this is the bomb.

    i have never heard of it.... but it sounds good..... if you send me some i will put it on a sandwitch and grill it it will not look as good as SC's grilled sandwitches from eggtoberfest man they were good you can find the recepie HERE and here is the pic that i took

    i still need to work on this but here is the itialian giardinia recepie i have

    Italian Giardineria
    2 Whole Bell Peppers, Green, Diced
    2 Whole Bell Peppers, Red, Diced
    8 Fresh Jalapeños, Sliced
    1 Stalk Celery
    1 Medium Carrots, Diced tomatoes
    1 Small Onion, Chopped
    1/2 Cup Cauliflower, Florets, Fresh
    1/2 Cup Water
    Water to cover
    2 Cloves Garlic, Finely Chopped
    1 Tbs Oregano, Dried
    1 Tbs Red Pepper, Flakes
    1/2 Tsp Black Pepper
    1 5 Ozs Jar Pimento Stuffed Green Olives, Chopped
    1 Cup White Vinegar
    1 Cup Olive Oil

    Directions:
    1 Place into a bowl the green and red peppers, jalapenos, celery, carrots, onion, and cauliflower. Stir in salt, and fill with enough cold water to cover. Place plastic wrap or aluminum foil over the bowl, and refrigerate overnight.
    2 The next day, drain salty water, and rinse vegetables. In a bowl, mix together garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and olives. Pour in vinegar and olive oil, and mix well. Combine with vegetable mixture, cover, and refrigerate for 2 days before using.

    it was not hot enough richard told me to add 1 tbls of red pepper flakes it was still not hot enough...... next time i can find some serrano peppers i think i will put two in thinly sliced with the seeds in it to see if i can spice it up enough.... the recepie i made filled 2 mason jars (although i am not sure how that measures out in canadian measurements :silly: :woohoo: :lol:;) .... man i kill me :cheer: )[url][/url]

    i also agree the stuff is real good! thanks to steven i have been able to sample the stuff.i have been putting it on crackers,pizza crust,sandwiches and the results are always hmmmmmmmmm good and has that great kick to it also.
