Blade Steak
Hello...anyone ever smoke a beef blade steak.... I know a tri-tip is cut from a blade but up here we can't get that cut. I mean those big cheap 2-3 inches steaks that make great pot roasts. Looking for done temp and any other suggestions. I figure anything that can be braised can be smoked.
Thanks

My neighbor, an Egger, does blade steaks all the time in a dutch oven on his Egg. I have no idea what he does but, it tastes damn good when he gets through! Sort of shreds out a little like pulled pork.

Sounds like it is being brazed. 4 to 6 hours abt 350° dome.

as far as i know, a tritip is its own roast, its not cut from a bladefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

CDN Bacon,
I've done blade and cross rib. If your going to do them as steaks, I would marinate them for a couple of days. You can do the roasts like you would a butt or a brisket. If they are on sale you can usually just ask for roasts at the meat counter and get the same price.

You can get tri tip here but you need to find a butcher who knows what it is. Costco has them sometimes
