Cracked & replacement fire boxes

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
Like a lot of other folks, I too have a cracked firebox. Have been using it for quite a while as is, but I was wondering if the newer/replacement fireboxes are holding up any better than the older ones. Also, I was wondering if the competition's fireboxes are faring any better. Anybody know? Goin' to bed - work early tomorrow...ERIC

    <p />E.B., my firebox has been cracked (all the way through in at least 2 places) for the last two years - since I don't ever disassemble or move my BGGE, it ha never really bothered me. [p]I also believe that the best solution to the problem of cracking fireboxes is to make them in at least two pieces - like mine, and several others, wanted to be and thus became - but then, Im not an engineer, just a user.[p]Just my thoughts![p]Life is GOOD! :~}

  • Gfw, Maybe you're right; instead of worrying about when it's going to crack, maybe a prefab two piece "pre-cracked" firebox is the answer...those of us who already have 2 (or 3) piece fireboxes know they work just fine...ERIC[p]
