medium swapped for large

edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
OK eggheads, today I swapped in my medium for a large, fully loaded. I have had my medium for a year. What are the cooking differences between the two. I know it will take more lump, but are there any other things I need to know to make the transition easier, or is cooking on the large basically the same as the medium. Hope I have made myself clear. I guess I am looking for hints, words of wisdom as AI begin cooking on a large. Thanks for the coming info.

  • slicktop,[p]You must be slick to talk somebody into trading a one year old used medium for a large.[p]:-)[p]How did you swing that? [p]- Mike

slicktop,[p]The large will operate very much like your medium. The large will take slightly more time to level out when regulating a low and slow cook as it has more Egg mass to warm up to temp. The vent settings for regulating temperature are close to the same, so the swap should be quite natural for you.[p]Congratulations on the new Egg.[p]Spin
  • Charcoal Mike,
They will take a trade in at the BGE store in Atlanta. They will give you full price the 1st 2 months the I think they depreciate it $5 a month after that. You just pay the difference. You can also buy the used ones at the store and get a great deal.

  • Eggoholic, you are exactly right. The people at the eggstore are just plain great folks. They gave me a great deal, and they enjoy doing it. It is a pleasure doing business with them. the problem is that living in atlanta i am over there all the time getting all the little added xtras, i am broke, but well fed.
