Can any one tell me the best set up for placing a drip pan.

Right under the grid on top of the plate setter is where I put mine. Unless I am using a V rack, then it will sit in a pan generally.

On the "legs-up" platesetter and under the grill unless you have an XL.

Ok everybody just call it a drip pan.....but it can be much more than that......try filling it with some marsala wine & a little bit of water....it works great...with poultry & beef........mmmmmmmmmm those scents & flavours!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with Beli. When I do a roast beef, I sear it first and then put it on the V-rack directly in a drip pan on the grate. Then I fill the drip pan with about 2 cups of beef broth. The juices dripping off the meat into the broth make an excellent au jus ! ! !

But when I'm doing ribs and such, I just set it on top of the place setter (legs up) under the grate.
