Decided to try out MickeyT's temp rings again. This time I'm doing sausages and I'm shooting for a temp under 250º. [p]After the egg came to temp - 200º or so, I closed the lower vent to a quarter inch and I put on a number two ring. This time I put the daisy wheel - fully open - on top of the temp ring and wonderful things happened. There was still smoke leaking out the top, but less of it and Mr. Egg settld down to 210• and he's been there for 45 minutes. So far so good.[p]Can't wait to try this arragement again for low temps.[p]CB

    Happy to see more encouraging results with the temp rings. I have not experienced any of the wisps of smoke leaking from underneath the ring, but it appears the weight of the daisy wheel may have been the right addition, in your particular case. Please keep us informed.
