A had nice little gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket from Christmas from my dad to a very nice Kitchen store here. Why is it that they are so hard to spend??!! LOL I ended up just getting a new garlic press for now. My good one disappeared and the cheapy i have been using was giving me fits. This one does two things I can just press out the nice garlic mush or very neat slices 1/16 thick. It has a nice feel and balance and really does do pretty cuts. I have steaks right now in evo, cracked pepper, balsamic vinager and enough garlic to kill a horse!

it is made by AMCO Houseworks and for under 20.00 not to bad.
Also looked these sillicone food ties and wondered if anyone had used them.

They say safe for baking and grilling with out direct heat. I have plenty of butchers string and have no trouble tying things up
but these were pretty cool. Julie

I think there were a few people that has them. For some reason RRP comes to mind. I want as little clean up as possible, so I stick with meat cutters twine.

Looks like fun! Scampi tonight?

We have some of the silicone ties. Here they are in action.

We used them last night to tie up some stuffed chicken breasts that my wife cooked in the oven so no pics. I think twine works better. -
Hi Mike, that is what held me back from getting them. I like a fast and easy clean up and I just did not relish having slimy strings to clean
I tossed two drip pans this week because I got a case of 100.00 heavy duty foil ones for 14.99. Those will last me awhile,Julie -
I got the same slicer after Christmas. My wife works at William Sonoma and we got gift certificates from family members for there, which is great cause she gets a 20%-40% discount. We loaded up :woohoo:
As far as the silicone ties, we bought some 3 years ago because we couldn't find any cooking twine that day. Used them that once. They weren't bad. I'd just rather use cooking twine for simplicity sake.Knoxville, TN

WOW I could not work there! I would never bring home a check. what a great job
I'm glad i recognize that i am basically a lazy cook and did not get them

Good memory Mike!
They reside on the same shelf next to my butchers twine. I just reach up and which ever one I touch first that's what I use! Actually clean up isn't bad. Just soak them or they come with a net bag which you can throw in the dishwasher.
