Reply from Hercules about the safety of their furnace cement

Hi, everyone. I emailed Hercules about their furnace cement product which I used to repair my broken small. Specifically, I asked if they advocated the use of their product for repair of ceramic BBQs in general, and the BGE in particular. I further clarified to ask if their product would give off unhealthy byproducts while cooking high heat items like a 750* steak. Here's the reply:[p]"
Dave,
It will be fine for repairing the barbecue. It will have to heat
cure before being waterproof though. There are no toxic components which would reach the food. The only volatile in the product is water.
Best regards,"[p]Later,
