will i ever be able to edit my profile and my posts and add a signature or should i just give it up?

Rick,
Your personal profile should have an "update" word on it. Click on it; it will then allow you to update your info. I've done it several times now.
As far as updating posts or editing. The only thing I do is to review my replies I send; change if necessary and then submit.

believe me, i've tried that 113 times. i always get the error "email is already in use".

There were two profiles using your email address. For some reason one of them did not show up in the usual search I use; so, I manually disabled it and changed the email address to something invalid.

You should be able to edit your profile now.

You can add a signature by clicking "my profile" from the *forum* menu at the top of any post, or the index.

As to editing your posts, you should see an "edit" link at the bottom of your posts, but if you don't, I'll have to look into it. Since I'm a moderator, I can edit any post .

i know how to do both operations, but they do not work for me.

no edit text shows up on my posts. i tried to add a signature and it gave me an error. i'll try again and post what it said.

I'm not sure what the trouble is. I logged in as "auser" (our test handle) and posted a message. I am able to edit it by clicking on "edit" at the bottom of the message above the "Thread map".

Do you see this link? If you do, what happens when you click on it? What browser are you using?

The forum doesn't think your logged in for some reason. You should also see the "my profile" link in the top menu which is also missing.

i'm using explorer 7 with vista.

i made that image when i wasn't logged on, but when logged on, i do not get the edit link and i cannot add a signature. i have the 'my profile' link when i'm logged on.
