just lookin':[p]No, someone had four fingers of Jack Daniel's and went to whacking with a machete. You are seeing the results.

I can understand cutting out all the stupid fighting and garbage that has been going around here but to cut out real problems (and real fixes to them) such as gasket problems or the lid welding itself shut is a disservice. I love my egg and think it is the coolest thing ever but am i stupid enough to think that this thing that is used 3-4 times a week and is kept at 200 degrees for 20 hours in a row one day and ran up to 1200 degrees the next day while being left in the rain and cold is not going to have issues? While not let us compare ideas on how to deal with the things some have had the experience already with?[p]

kirk davison,[p]It's hard to explain to someone who has never had the joy of removing files from a forum that uses a cgi scripting format using Matt's WWWboard software (ie: like this one). The wonderful B Miller, who started this forum, started with that software and made it better - much better, but it has a common problem and that is that it is sometimes difficult to cut out the cancer and leave everything else 100% OK. It can be easy or it can be a nightmare. I can assure you that the WM did not intend for the posts to be damaged. If he had he would have just removed them totally. The scripting got messed up from the files deleted and possably the numbering. It happened to me more than a few times and there is not much you can do but wipe most of it out and start over or go from where you are.[p]David, I know your pain when that happens. I know the regular members here, those who actually own and use and like ceramic cookers, appreciate your work. I am sorry so many find joy in blaming everything from low stock prices to the days being too long. I have long ago given up caring what they say or why. They have 2 agendas, ruin this forum and drive me off it. To that I say - metal rusts![p]Tim
  • Tim M,
I have been on this forum for 3 years now and sure hope I did not sound like i appreciate it. I also thank you for telling me how the system works so I know it was not the intend to remove valuable info.
As for you Tim I have no desire to see you go. I have found much value in your site and you have helped me more than once over the years. Thanks

    Tim M,
Thank you for your last line, with all the $hit that is going on, it gave me my biggest laugh of the day.
When I first came here for help none of this was going on, I felt welcomed and could not wait to come back, now I wonder what kind of garbage I have to wade through to find the friendly people that make this board so much fun.

    Tim M,
It's sad to see what this has come to, but you and the rest of us must persevere and this too shall pass.
