I am wondering why I can update my profile with all information except for my country of residence?. It still shows that I reside in the US. This isn't a big thing, and I am not complaining, but just wondering since when I go into my profile it shows the correct country, Canada, yet if I click on my handle it still shows US....also still not sure why, despite having set up my info on the new website by having the info on the old web site "merged" or "uploaded" onto the new site it shows me as a member since Jan/08, even though I was posting on the old site since spring 07 and, although I didn't make a lot of posts on old forum, I guess it didn't pick up that info either. Again, not big issues, certainly not as big as many I have seen here, just thought I would ask.

I think those of you who are looking after this site are doing a great job.....it is such a great thing to have this forum, I would not have wanted to start my journey into the wonderful world of Eggdom without all the help that I have received here from everyone...so much support and advice, I wonder if the mothership really knows what an asset this is???

Thanks, Eric

    eatbbq,

I just found that there are two "homepage" fields in the profile system. We put three different systems together to make something that worked as much like the old forum as possible. As a result, there are some common fields, like "homepage", and probably "country" too, that are stored in one place and viewed from a different place. We'll look into fixing these issues soon. Apologies for the inconvenience.

The old forum did not have a "member since" field; so, for the time being, that information is taken from when your registration was confirmed. Perhaps we can look into taking that information from the date of your first post.

The post counts can also be incorrect if you have more than one profile on the old forum. It was all too easy to end up with two or more just by editing your profile in the old system. Especially if you changed your handle (even just changing the case is enough to get a second one).

If you have two or more profiles, we will look into "merging" them with your current one once the dust settles from the transition to the new forum.

Thanks WMK, I think at one time for some reason I thought my handle was eat-bbq and used that, and found out there was no hyphen, but may have changed the profile, so your assumption is undoubtedly correct. Don't sweat the extra work sorting it out unless it hapens naturally....it isn't a big thing to me and I doubt I made more that 20-25 posts on old forum anyway...for the most part I was reading and learning. Keep up the great work.
