I am about to cook my first whole chicken. but I cannot seem to find any info telling me what temperature to cook at. I have seen anywhere from 175-450 degrees. I am going to use my chicken roaster stand, but should I also use my plate setter? Help, my wife and parents are ready to eat! Thanks

I usually do mine at 350 until the breast meat reaches 160.

For a crispier skin, you want to go at least 400, direct on raised grid if you can. You could also go indirect but it will take longer, and sounds like you have some hungry folks breathing down your neck, lol.
You can also try this, and it'll be done in about 50 minutes:

Good luck,

I llike to do them at about 400. Really crisps the skin. Takes a little over an hour.

ps. obviously a picture from the summer. -
When you roast anything in your Egg use the same temperatures and times as you would in your oven. If you aren't familiar with your oven ask your wife. They know everything.

Did these the other day at 450 indirect with drip pan. They were just under #4 and took 1 hr. 10 min.

By chicken roaster stand, do you mean a vertical roaster?
If yes, go to the Spanek website. They have detailed instructions how to use it. -
One of the best pics I've seen of beer-can chicken was posted just recently. Here's the thread.

Personally, my best chicken I cooked at about 250-275.
However, it took a while.
