since i've officially entered my first bbq competition this july, i asked my friend to play around with a logo and i need to have a banner made. here is the first draft quickly whipped up by my friend. :woohoo:

Looks good. If you are competing with Eggs I wonder if you could change Porky's swimsuit to green and incorporate the BGE logo. Or maybe give him a BGE arm tattoo. Not sure if that would break any copyright laws, just an idea.

Now you need to hook up with Hungry Man and have him make up some shirts for you.

Also Guerilla Banners makes a great banner that is very heavy duty. $7 per square foot covers all expenses.

my only question is about the name. right now "delight" is emphasized.

so, depending on how you say the name, i'd just try to make sure that the sign reads the same way.

for ex:

right now the sign reads "rick's tropical DELIGHT"

could also be "Rick's TROPICAL DELIGHT"

or "RICK'S tropical delight"

or all equal... Rick's tropical delight (which is how i always read it or say it in my head.... FWIW)

any way you do it, you still can't beat a pig in a bathing suit, man! excellent

Visually, I see a pig, in a tropical setting, holding up a drink called, Rick's Tropical Delight.

A logo advertising a new drink.

There's no BBQ & or Egg message... but maybe I'm too simplistic in my thinking...

How bout have porky sticking his head out of an Egg - kind of like when he says "That's all folks!" he's sticking his head through that circle thing. Not sure I'm sold on the sunglasses or shorts either.

I like the concept, just think it's not quite there. Hope you wanted my honest opinion.

yes sir, we are soliciting feedback and that's the reason i posted the first drafts here (and another bbq forum). my buddy works for a great design studio and marketing products is one of their thangs. honest opinions and ideas from the public, in my opinion, are truly needed in order to end up with the bestest graphic. (but what do i know... i'm a silly pavement engineer! :silly: )

Yep! I'd really like to meet LIU and the Professor as well. I doubt seriously they would introduce themselves are let anyone know who they were.
