I realize that this might be a personal question, but...
"How do you steam your buns?"
Hot dog / Hamburger buns that is.
Last weekend, I had made up some nice smoked sausages and the buns were cold and just not up to par with the sausage.
I realize that a lot of people like toasted but I like steamed.

I put mine in the microwave about 15 seconds with a small glass of water for moisture.

I do the microwave also but don't put any water in there....15 seconds wrapped in a paper towel..they come out soft and warm..

i used to have a small conney island hot dog steamer that worked well. i like them better grilled in butter in a pan or on a griddle plate, even egged hotdogs on the griddle with butter.

fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
Wrap in foil and put them in with the dogs / burgers.

The best way I've found is to put about an inch of water in a pot with a handle and throw it on the stove. When it boils, put your buns on a grease screen(you know, those round screens with a handle used for keeping bacon grease from spattering every where.)and let them steep for a moment in the steam. then I put the lid to the pot on over top of the buns for about a minute. They will come out moist and soft. NOTE: use the handle to remove them and put them on. The hot steam will burn you baddddd! Enjoy!!

Better to get a response a day late then none at all. What I do is place some water in a Wok and place bamboo steamer in the water. Place acouple of paper towels in the Steamer, add your buns, steam only for about 10 seconds to get em soft. Too long and they fall apart. good luck
