A couple of forum members have tried to email me using my profile here on the forum. I'll get an email from the saying:

NOTE:This is a message from mijoey at greeneggers.net (
http://www.greeneggers.net ). This user did not see your email
address. If you reply the receipent will have your email address.
greeneggers.net owners cannot accept any responsibility for the contents of the
email.

When I hit reply to this message, it routes to the greeneggers.net rather than this person's actual email. Am I doing something wrong? I don't want this person thinking I'm ignoring them, but I don't know how to send a follow up email....

Any help is appreciated...

That's strange. When I get emails from the forum members, I can reply to their registered email address.

I'll send you one to test.

    QBabe,

Hmmm, that's odd. I'll have to do some testing and see if I can reproduce that same behavior.

Many of my messages that come directly through this site wind up in my JUNK folder, so check that too.... As far as your problem, it happens to me too. I've been deleting most of the "reply to" address, reducing it to their original e-mail address, then sending. It's a hassle for sure, but you will get the hang of it. For example, the "reply to" address will look like this:

    "BOB(at)" greeneggers(dot)net bob(at)something(dot)com

    I delete everything except this:

    bob@something.com
    Happy Trails

What I think is happening is when you hit reply, the mail client reads the following header:

    Original Message
    From: Fidel @ greeneggers.net [mailto:rodneyfortune@bellsouth.net]
    Sent: Tuesday, January 15, 2008 10:18 PM
    To: rodneyfortune@bellsouth.net
    Subject: test

and creates to To: line as a contact that appears as:

    Fidel @ greeneggers.net

But the actual mailto: is set only as the email address.

I think it is just confusing the way it appears in the To: line of the mail client, but the address is actually going to the persons email address that they are registered with on the forum.

    I hope this makes sense.

If I try to send it, I get this:

    There was a problem:
There is an error in the To field.

It appears to be a formatting error, somewhere at or near the beginning of the sub-string "". Did you forget a comma?

Please enter valid e-mail addresses (e.g., in the format person@yahoo.com), or use nicknames from your Yahoo! Address Book. Separate each address with a comma (",").

Your message has not been sent.
