Turkey cook time

Could I get some time estimate on how long a 15 lb. turkey will take cooking the Mad Max way? Seems like 3 to 4 hours is about right but I would like to get the timing right with guests coming for dinner.

Houndog,[p]Most recipes call for 15 minutes per pound at 350 degrees. A 15 pounder should take around 3 hours and 45 minutes according to those calculations. Just remember, you are shooting for 160 in the breast and 180 in the thigh. You sill also want to take it off, tent it in foil, and let it rest for a while before carving.[p]I have found that using my vertical roaster the bird does not take quite this long.[p]Enjoy![p]Jim

Houndog,[p]At a dome temp of 325 degrees you can expect just about 3 hrs to hit 160-162 degrees in the breast.

Morro Bay Rich,[p]Thanks for the responses. 15 minutes a lb. is what I'll figure keeping an eye on the breast temp. with my trusty thermapen. Have a good holiday.
