tach18k,[p] Mmmm, Skyline Chili, good stuff (at least the memories of it). I went to college near Cincinnati and really liked it. It is not like other chili, but quite good[p]There is a battle between Skyline and Goldstar ,,, fun read(see link). It's a local rivalry.[p]Smokey

tach18k,
The differene in Cincinnati chili and others is the meat is more finely ground and cinnamon and coccoa are added to make it a little sweeter. You can order Skyline or make it yourself with the recipie from this link.

TX'N in FLA,
Cincinnati Chili can be fun to serve for a casual family meal or gathering. Serve the spaghetti separately, and let your guests top it themselves with the desired combination of chili, onions, cheese, and/or kidney beans. Easy to make and goes well with beer.[p]Phil

tach18k,
I tried it and didn't think it was a big deal. I think the chili in Detroit area for hot dogs is far superior. any one from that area have an opinion on that?

YB,
That is easy enough. I'll try it. Once a year I order a 5 lb brick from Detroit. all I do is add water.[p]Thanks

YB,
I wholeheartedly second that endorsement! It's so good that I always make it as a double batch since I eat so much of it tasting to make sure "it's just right!". I also have used it in ABTs.

HungryMan,
I'm from Detroit and I like a good coney island when I'm back there. There is also a "Flint style" dog that uses ground hot dogs as the meat that is good also.[p]http://blog.mlive.com/michigan_appetite/2007/10/recipe_almost_flintstyle_coney/print.html[p]Copy and paste this link to see a receipe.

tach18k,[p]A friend of mine has had this for many years.[p]Chili, Beans, Skyline
This one is mine from the early '70's that mother and daddy liked. I got it from the man who started the "Skyline"Chili Franchise. He was a client of mine in Miami.

1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tsp Red Peppers
4 Dry Red Peppers
5-6 Bay Leaves
1 tsp All Spice, Ground
2-3 Tsp Worchestire Sauce
Salt/Pepper to taste
2 quarts Water
Procedure:
1 Cook all in one uncovered pot on low flame, I like to use a cast iron pot, may add chili or kidney beans, drain juice from can before using.
