Two butts for the night

Unknown
edited November -1 in EggHead Forum
I have two 6.5lbs butts on the medium green egg. Loaded the egg with lump to the level of the fire ring after a thorough cleaning. Put on butts at 1:30 PM. Using my new medium plate setter.
Cooking at 250 degrees for the duration. At 7:00 PM tonight I had to open the bottom vent to about an inch to maintain the 250 degree level
desired. I am leaving to go to a party now- will return at approx 1:00 AM.
Question: Should I plan on adding more lump at that time? The lump level has dropped considerably since 1:30 PM - is this normal ? I want to cook to approx 9:30 AM or so . Any advice would be greatly appreciated as always.[p]Thanks,[p]Rayman
