Newbie - just bought small BGE & question
i look forward to start using the small BGE in a few days.
How would i use this recipe for Chuck roast, using the BGE ?[p]oven method:
i season with Morton's Season salt & marinate the roast overnite with dry sherry. Normally i would slice 2 onions over it & add 1 small bottle of Chilli Sauce & bake in covered pyrex dish in oven 350°F til tender.

Michael Arnoldi,
I have tried cooking a chuck roast on the BGE and failed miserably. The advice I got from the forum is to use a Dutch oven and cook with the top off stirring occasionally. I bought a dutch oven and will try the method in a few weeks. I found a long post from several months ago on cooking a chuck roast. I will E-mail it to you. Good luck.

Michael Arnoldi,
Welcome to the forum, may I suggest that you start out with things like chicken, hamburger, etc.[p]Learn to use the egg and how it reacts to the vent settings, then expand from there. Better to go slow and learn with success then to rush it and have failure.
Happy New Year,
New Bob

Michael Arnoldi,
Since you know how that chuck should turn out in the oven, I'd try the same technique in the BGE. Only change I'd make would be to roast it uncovered, to get a nice smokey taste to it. (Never used Pyrex in my Egg, but it's ovenproof and should be okay.)
Let us know what you do and what you learn.
