Christian Boyce,
There is one up North.

Ross in Ventura, thanks for this. Are you referring to the one at Bay Meadows? Sounds like fun but we'll need something closer. Maybe this is an opportunity for someone-- "Eggfest 90210" or something.

Christian Boyce,[p]I was talking to Mike from BGE who is based in Sacramento yesterday. He said they are also planning to have an Eggfest there next year. I went to Eggs By the Bay in June and was sold. A great event. Finally got my hubby to acutally buy one yesterday! We got a demo at an outdoor kitchen store in Palm Desert, only used once. It is sitting on the patio as we speak, using it tonight.

Fluffy,
Enjoy your new Egg,

Christian Boyce,
I encourage people to travel to get to their nearest Eggfest. I know California is a loooong state and people would like to have one in So Cal as well as northern. But if a perfectly great one is already taking place in No Calif, I certainly don't see the need to reinvent the wheel in someplace as close by as Sacramento.[p]While it's the locals who made up the bulk of our PNW Eggfest this past September, those who came from further away were the frosting on the cake and our event wouldn't have been near as much fun without those folks who came from Oregon (4-8 hours away), Idaho (6-8 hours away), Alaska, California, and Florida (don't ask how far way all these guys came from, I can't count that high!).[p]I think it's really important to support the Eggfests and the people who have already taken the iniative. Putting on an Eggfest costs a fair amount of one's own money, even when there are sponsors involved (who, btw, shell out a ton of money, at least here in the PNW), so imo the small amount of money it may cost one to travel to get to a fest is a bargain when compared to the cost of starting up a new one![p]Therefore, I would really encourage So Calif eggers, along with Nevada and even So Oregonians, to support the Eggs by the Bay Eggfest. I hear they have life music, which I think is a great touch![p]And who knows, if I can ever convince Smitty to push it back one stinkin' week, you would even get to meet moi!

Dimple's Mom,
Since you have put on a fest, you would know better than I, but having attended 6 fests this year, it seemed to mean a lot to the organizers that we traveled as far as we did to attend their fest. With airfare, hotel, and rental car, each fest ran $1000-$1500 for Kim and I. Total it all up and it isn't any more than a nice cruise, and we sure met a lot of great people. -RP

AZRP,
What, you went to SIX fests and didn't include the PNW fest?!?!? I am SOOOO hurt. You better come in '08 to make up for it.[p]I agree with you, meeting all the people is the best part of any fest. Plus, getting to see new places that you haven't been before, it's a great excuse for that![p]Gwen
