I recently bought a Oregon Scientific wireless(model# AW131) internal meat thermometer. Worked like a charm for the first handful of times I used it. Then yesterday, after 18 or so hours of continuous use it begen given very high readings (even at room temperature) Is there a way to reset? ANyone experienced such before?[p]Thanks,
Mario

    Mario,
Sorry to hear of your trouble. check the batteries, at the very least you should be able to reset by taking out the batteries for about 30 seconds. If the batteries are good, and the trbl persists I would send it back and buy a different brand meter. I've tried Oregon Scientific products(not the model that you have) a couple of times and always ended up returning them. I'm not trying to rain on your parade but I just had always gotten bad products from them. Hope changing the batteries work!

  • Mario,
That appears to be the same shape and design of my Webber wireless thermometer that I recently had problems with. My unit wouldn't communicate. There is a reset buttong on both the transmitter (round) and the receiver under the battery cover. Use a gem clip that you straightened to a point on one end to pust into the reset. You should also try new batteries.[p]B & C

Big'un,[p]I bought a OR Sci atomic clock off Woot- it keeps perfect Mountain Time.[p]Every time I set it to Central the atomic time signal sets it back to Mountain.[p]No more OR Sci for me...[p]Big T

    Mario,
i have never tried your brand! but i have had 3 redi check made by maverick, and every time i tried a spatchcocked chicken i would get the probes too hot and i would never get a good reading from them again, they would always read too high. so now i have the guru and a thermopen. dont use the guru on high heat, and have had no problems. i have more false readings from my dome thermometer theta i have to recalibrate every month or so.[p]
sorry to ramble on but you may have gotten your probes too hot and that is why you are getting false readings.[p][p]

  • Mario, I have that same unit. Both the transmitter and the receiver have a reset button, Both are under the battery doors. Have both units turned on, and with a paper clip press the reset button on the TRANSMITTER FIRST, then press reset on the receiver. If that does not work, pull all the batteries out for about one minute, then redo the reset procedure. Hope that helps.
