Set up for 3 butt cook

I need to do 3 butts on my large egg next Thurday night for a lunch at work Friday. I have done two butts numerous times but never three. I'm not sure I will be able to place all three 8 lb butts on the grid over the plate setter/drip pan. Any suggestions for setup? I do have numerous grills, plate setter, fire bricks, 12" pizza stone. I do not have a grill extender but making hangers to hang or support another grill would not be a big deal.[p]Carl T

Carl T, Here's a pic of three butts I did awhile ago. As I recall they were about 6 lbs each but I think you might fit the 8's in using the same layout. You can use a 2nd grid instead of the extender, just support it with fire bricks or long bolts as others have posted about. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I might have to do a butt this weekend also. Good luck.[p]Chuck <><

Carl T,
Here are two butts i cooked up for the moose hunting camp, as chuck has mentioned you can use fire bricks on a second grill, with the meat in a small alumunm pan. It should not be to hard to squeeze in one more this way.[p]Earl

Carl T,
I used a large drip pan (oven broiler pan), and elevated the second grate with thin firebricks. I just layed all 3 butts on the same level. 24 pounds in all. Worked great.[p]Enjoy your cook!
