Turbo-Bird

Wow - cooked a Turkey the other day. I used the vertical roaster and figured about 12-15 minutes a pound. So I figured a 14 lb. bird would take about 3 hours. Put the bird on, got the dome to 350* and went to hockey practice with my 16-year old. Bird was finished in about 1:45. Wife figured something was wrong so she left it on another 30 minutes then took it off and left it wrapped in towels for over an hour until I got home. It was actually done at the 1:45 mark - which was pretty amazing, but even more amazing was how moist it was even after cooking and sitting all that extra time. Looks like I'll be recalibrating my cooking time for Turkey on the vertical roaster

Walter,[p]Glad to read that the bird was great. I'd recommend doing a couple more birds and chart their cook times. This year, at least for me, my turkey cooks have seen a wider range in cook times. Don't know why, but they just have.[p]Puj[p]
