What is a good way to smoke a tri tip including egg set up etc.?

Mike,[p]IMHO, this techique has to be my favorite. The only thing is to go a little less on the sodium.

The salt serves as a desicant and draws moisture out of the tri-tip prior to cooking thus intensifying the flavor. It is akin to dry-aging. In my experience, with the searing, most of the salt falls off.

that is a good recipe! Because I did it for a class I had time constraints so I did the reverse T-Rex and it came out fine.

Hey fellas! Im new here but i wanted to revisit this thread. The recipe posted while great is not really "smoked" tri tip, as in a long and low smoke. Im from California so tri tip is very common. Anyone have experience in smoking these bad boys? Thanks!
