Stopped Top Leakage

I'm sure it's been done sometime before, I just never noticed. But, there was always smoke leakage around the bottom of the top ceramic cap, or cast iron daisy wheel cap.
I had about 12" of gasket left over, so I cut it in half long ways, cleaned the top rim with acetone, and run the gasket around the top. The seal is absolute. Now, no more smoke leakage, and when I shut the bottom vent, and put the ceramic cap on, and the fire goes out pronto.
