Grains of Paradise

Awhile back somebody mentioned finding it (them?), and I just came across a recipe calling for them. My usual spice source is Penzey's, but they don't stock them. Anybody got any bright ideas when I can find it?

Wow George. 6.50 for 4 ounces here, and 11 bucks for 2.5 ounces where I got it. More that 3 times the cost of your place.[p]Thanks for that link. this is where I will order more. [p]Hope all is well out in Colorado. Snowing yet? 85 here in Northern Virginia today. The cold is on its way.

WessB,
I will be selling a fabulous spice blend (called Grains of Desire) from South Africa that contains grains of paradise. Look for it on my updated holiday web site in about three weeks. JCA

RhumAndJerk,
There are a few recipes at the link below. [p]I use it where you use black pepper, but want an added dimension. I've found it especially excellent with poultry and fish. One of the first things I did was cover a steak with it...as I would pepper. This will give you an idea of the flavor. [p]I understand it loses some flavor while cooking, so I will usually add a dusting at the end...or near the end of the cook.[p]Cheers!

RhumAndJerk, I use it instead of pepper on salads. Try it as a pepper substitute in any recipe.
